MISSION STATEMENT

As Parish Pastoral Council members, we have the prophetic mission of being the voice of the people we represent, thus making our goals to meet their needs. We have the prophetic mission of extending our concern beyond our own parish community, thus building the Kingdom of God on earth by proclaiming, worshiping, and serving in His name.

The Parish Pastoral Council serves as an advisory body to the Pastor and the Parish Team. They act as the voice of the people of St. Bernard Parish, providing for communication between the commissions and organizations in the parish and the parishioners. They set goals and, based on available resources, recommend actions to serve the needs of the parish. The Council consists of the Pastor, Parish Team, and twelve (12) parishioners elected by the parish members. Of the twelve elected members, four are elected each year and serve a term of three (3) years. The Council meetings are conducted on the third Thursday of each month at 7:00 P.M. in the Rectory Meeting Room and are open to all parishioners.
