CHILDREN'S LITURGY OF THE WORD - During the school year at the 9:00 A.M. Sunday Mass, children are invited to the school to hear the Word of God at their level of understanding. After reflecting on the Readings, they rejoin the celebration of the Liturgy in Church. Two adult parishioners facilitate this ministry each week. |
| COMMUNION
MINISTRY TO THE HOMEBOUND - Volunteer ministers are assigned the
name of a parishioner who would like to receive communion, but is unable
to come to the weekend masses. The volunteer minister is given a Pyx to
carry the host and prayer cards to be used for the Communion Service.
Communion is taken to the homebound by the volunteer minister on the third
Sunday of the month.

| EXTRA-ORDINARY COMMUNION MINISTRY -
Communion Ministers provide a service to the parish community by
distributing communion at weekend Masses. They also serve as greeters at
the doors of the church prior to the celebration. This ministry is open to
adult members and young adult members of the parish who are practicing
Catholics. Training is available to help individuals become familiar with
the procedures. There are currently fifty-five individuals who participate
in this ministry and they are scheduled approximately once every two or
three weeks for the mass of their preference.

| LECTOR MINISTRY - The Lector
Ministry provides a service to the parish community by proclaiming the
Word of God through the reading at Mass. The Lector can do much to enhance
the celebration of the liturgy through careful and prayerful proclamation
of the Word, which can touch and move the assembly. Ministers also offer
petitions. This ministry is open to adult and young adult members of the
parish who are practicing Catholics. One lector is scheduled for each
mass. Training is available to help individuals become familiar with the
procedures, as well as, to provide hints on proper delivery, pacing,
emphasis, etc. The thirty individuals who currently serve as Lectors are
scheduled approximately once per month at the mass of their preference.

| MUSIC MINISTRY - The purpose
of the Music Ministry is to provide music for the liturgies and other
services throughout the year. This ministry is led by the Music Director
who coordinates the schedule for cantors and organists; plays for
liturgies, services, funerals, and weddings; attends practices as needed;
attends Liturgy Planning meetings, Children's (monthly) Liturgy, and
Worship Commission meetings. Anyone interested in taking part in the Music
Ministry can participate in one or more of the following activities:
Cantor (scheduled according to preference and practice as
needed); Adult Choir (sing at the 9:00 A.M. Sunday Mass
from October to Pentecost, and practice every Thursday from 7:00 P.M. to
9:00 P.M.); Youth Choir (sing at the 11:30 A.M. Mass
on the first Sunday of the month from September to May and practice every
Thursday from 3:00 P.M. to 4:15 P.M.); Guitar Group (sing
at the 5:00 P.M. Mass on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month from
September to May and practice the Thursday prior to the scheduled Mass);
and other musical instruments as needed.

| SERVER MINISTRY - Students in
grades 4 to 12 are invited to attend a workshop that will prepare them to
serve Mass. Students who become Servers assist the celebrant during Mass
and other church functions. A bi-monthly schedule is given to each Server.
Parents are responsible to provide transportation and Servers are
responsible to be faithful in their commitment to serve when scheduled.

| USHER MINISTRY - Ushers are present and serve at weekend Masses. Training is provided and this ministry is open to all parishioners. |
